A room mid-job: paper over the floor, blue tape and gray paint test patches on white walls, a paint roller and a roll of tape on the fireplace mantel, a paint can on the floor.

Who you’re hiring

I’m Jerry. I give the estimate and I paint the rooms.

Velazquez Painting is owner-operated and based in Bushwick, and I walk every wall with you at the end.

Before starting Velazquez Painting, I worked on crews of two and crews of ten or more. On a bigger job the extra hands are people from those crews, never a crew you have never met.

How much does interior painting cost in Brooklyn?

It depends on room size, wall condition, and how much prep the plaster needs, so we price from the space itself. Estimates are free and written. Send photos and rough dimensions and we’ll get you a ballpark fast.

How long does it take to paint a room?

A typical bedroom takes 1 to 2 days including prep and two coats. Whole-apartment repaints usually run 3 to 5 days depending on condition.

Do I need to buy the paint?

Either way works. We can supply quality paint, or you pick the brand and color and we handle the rest. We help with color selection at no charge.

Do you paint occupied apartments?

Yes, most of our work is in lived-in homes. Furniture gets covered and moved carefully, floors get protected, and every room is left clean at the end of each day.

Do you take commercial jobs?

Yes. Homes are the specialty, and we also paint commercial spaces: galleries, offices, retail and lobbies. The most recent one was a gallery floor in Chelsea, partition walls, columns and ceilings. Send the square footage and the window you need it done in and we’ll price it.

Do you do exterior painting?

We focus on interiors right now. If you need exterior work, reach out anyway and we’ll point you in the right direction.
